A lasting benefit This collaboration has left a substantial legacy in our community. Building on the learning gained from working together we were able to launch several programs aimed at assisting and supporting Peterborough’s vulnerable youth. This has included the SAFE Program for young adults aged 16 – 29 years and more recently, the Quantum Program, an exciting 4-year support program for 60 at-risk youth designed to increase their chances of graduating from high school. This program has received support from the entire community as well as all levels of government. Vote for us!!

I have seen first hand the difference the John Howard Society makes in our youth's lives. Because our youth staff are so passionate about their jobs, it certainly brings out the best in the clients. The John Howard Society has great programs for the youth and I am honoured to be a staff at the John Howard Society.

The John Howard Society works hard to support our youth in Peterborough and the surrounding area. The staff are dedicated and recognize the potential in youth, striving to make a difference. As a former employee I had the priviledge of working at the JHS and know first hand the type of programs the JHS provides. Over the years young people have returned to the agency to say thank you and the impact from both staff and programs have had in their life. Recently over the Xmas holidays I was in the mall and saw a former SAFE participant working. He informed me that he completed high school and had applied to for a welding program. This was a previous client from 2006. He spoke very highly about the employment skills program and thanked JHS for giving him a chance. Kathy Neill is an inspirational leader, always putting youth first, recognizing barriers and moving forward to address them! This agency has definately filled gaps in both the city and county.
